KKR is a franchise cricket team of presenting Kolkata in Indian Premier League. The team Kolkata Knight Riders one of franchises added to the IPL in year 2008. The skipper of KKR is Gautam Gambhir came in place of S Ganguly who was captain of Indian cricket team.
The franchise is owned by Bollywood actor Shah Rukh Khan’s company Red Chillies Entertainment in partnership with actress Juhi Chawla and her husband Jay Mehta from the Mehta Group. The team won its first title in 2012 by defeating defending champions Chennai Super Kings by 5 wickets at their home ground in Chennai. The group paid a total of $75.09 million in 2008 during teams auction.
